The Non Resorcinol Peel is generally considered a medium level peel containing (Salicylic, Lactic, and Glycolic Acids.) The depth of this peel is determined by the number of layers applied during application and the tolerance level of the skin it is applied to. It is recommended that new users begin with 1-3 layers for a light/medium peel. Generally 4-6 layers will result in a medium/deep peel and 7-8 layers can result in a deep peel.
SKIN CONCERN: Non Resorcinol Peel is suitable for most skin types particularly normal to oily, acneic, and sun damaged. Sensitive and dry skin types should consult with a skin care professional to determine if the Non Resorcinol Peel is an appropriate choice for them.
The Non-Resorcinol Peel combines the benefits of three popular peeling agents: glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and lactic acid. This peel effectively lightens hyperpigmentation, treats and prevents acne, and renews sun damaged skin.
A distinct blend of alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids work in synergy to create vibrant glowing skin. Lactic and Glycolic acids (alpha hydroxy acid) also help lift hyperpigmentation and sun damage as salicylic acid (beta hydroxy acid) penetrates deep within the pore lining to dissolve obstructing comedones.
- Salicylic Acid– A beta-hydroxy acid derived from the willow bark tree which helps to decongest skin and reduce blemishes and black heads.
- Lactic Acid-This alpha-hydroxy acid ,derived from fermented milk, has been used in skincare for centuries as a source of skin smoothing and skin softening and also as a vehicle for exfoliation in higher concentrations. It can improve skin texture and increase hydration and has become an essential ingredient due to it’s mild skin enhancing effects. Lactic acid can improve the skin’s appearance by one of two ways; either by offering moisturization for dry mature skin or by helping to exfoliate dead skin cells and increasing the rate of cell turnover. It can help stimulate collagen production, act as an astringent, and help rid the skin of impurities. It can also help with photo-aging and sun-damaged skin thereby improving skin texture, radiance, and luminosity.
- Glycolic Acid– A powerful effective exfoliator for aiding in skin turnover, glycolic acid is the most active and beneficial of alpha-hydroxy-acids. It is used to improve skin texture, refine skin tone and even out complexion giving a healthy and natural glow to dull, tired skin.
- Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract – Curcumin, this active component provides protection and healing benefits to the skin. The skin is the first line of defense for the body against the external environment. Since the skin is a tissue which is rich in lipids (fatty acids), neutralizing free radicals, reducing UV damage and modulating abnormal cellular growth is essential in slowing down the aging process
